Fishermen Injured by Israeli Naval Gunfire Off the Coast of Gaza Several fishermen were injured after Israeli naval vessels opened fire on them off the coast of Gaza City while they were attempting to retrieve hardened concrete blocks from the seabed to recycle and sell them. The fishermen were desperately trying to earn a living and provide food for their children and families amid the tightening naval blockade, restrictions preventing them from going out to sea and practicing their profession, and the worsening humanitarian and economic conditions in the Gaza Strip.
