This wide shot shows a panoramic view of eastern Gaza City, with the Jabal al-Rayes area prominent in the foreground, at sunrise. At this stage, the area appears to have sustained partial damage to a number of residential buildings and structures, with large parts of the urban fabric remaining intact. This image documents the features of the area before it later witnessed a widespread military escalation and a devastating war that radically changed its features, leaving behind enormous destruction and residential areas leveled to the ground.
